Ok, I'll admit - I actually like doing environmental still-life. Yup. To explore a bit more, I've started shooting for A. Cheng's social media. Here's the latest featuring a cute button-up to wear now and into fall. Pssst...shot with iPhone 5.
Yes! New work on global marketing consultancy Equancy's site.
And these two for the homepage:
Every once in a while, it's good to get out of your comfort zone. For me that "safety" area is environmental portraiture. Even more specifically, artisans, designers, food purveyors. Recently I was commissioned by Rina Norwood Design, a Charlotte, NC and Nashville, TN based interior design group for a residence in Atlanta, GA.
Check out the foyer at this Midtown Atlanta home! Recently purchased, Rina Norwood Design is setting its aesthetic tone. It's a 1920s house, but the interior is a mix of tradition and modern.
The house is still being decorated so we were able to shoot a few areas. That just means I can shoot more another time! Amazing residence and neighborhood. Almost makes me want to move there...almost.
Well hello again! I've got more work out on Roads & Kingdoms. Actually it was published last week, but I didn't want to bombard you with, How cool? Published again! Similar to the Visvanathan “Rudra” Rudrakumaran story, these images focus on Sri Lankan Tamils looking for justice from their government and even an independent state.

Wahoo - more new work out! Visvanathan “Rudra” Rudrakumaran is the Prime minister of the Transnational Government of Tamil Eelam (TGTE), the government-in-exile fighting for an independent state on Sri Lanka.
After the Sri Lankan government defeated the Tamil Tigers (Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam - LTTE) in 2009 ending the civil war, the TGTE evolved from the LTTE civilian wing. Yep, that's the same Tamil Tigers that M.I.A.'s father was a part of. And the same group that's on the US terrorist list.
Sideshow performers: A contortionist, sword swallower, fire breather and the Outside Talker, the ultimate barker.
The Reverend Jen: Artist and proprietiess of the Lower East Side's Troll Museum. And she has elf ears.
Blackwolf the Dragonmaster: Probably the weirdest of the bunch. He's the unofficial wizard of NYC. We're talking Gandalf-style with walking stick. And he's got an amazing video with Triumph the Insult Comic Dog.
All unique and cool folks.
I'm still awaiting pdfs of the article, but in the meantime you can check out the online version here. More images used in the print magazine too! As soon as the embargo's over, I'd love to post some outtakes.
Today's shoot is with Blackwolf the Dragonmaster and the last of a multi-subject feature article I'm photographing. We were in Times Square. As I was setting up, a policeman stopped by and asked if I was shooting Gandalf. Replying yes, he said "Well, he's over there" pointing across the street. The policeman had already kicked him out of the TKTS area twice before he believed Blackwolf!
