Three openings last night, two at Pace Gallery including a preview of Chuck Close's "Nudes". I've met a few celebrities in my day, but I'm totally freaking out with Marina Abramović and duh, Chuck Close there.
On the stands now! My portrait of Robert Valin, founder of Urban Bear in Time Out NY. Page 4.

If there's anything that sums up my consumer life, it's this…
(with the exception of baked goods - buying less that is)
In January I met up with Kai Fan, former Creative Director at Nautica, at his new Williamsburg shop Kai D Utility. Walking in you think -- Heritage. Utilitarian. Slow fashion. Durable. Explorer. Modern artisan. Craftsmanship. Stylish manly man.
Fabrics are sourced from generations old mills and all production is in New York City's Garment District, handmade using non-automated machinery. Leftover materials are used to create his ties and notebooks to waste less. It's the antithesis to disposable H&M.
I love his shop and you will too! Check out more photos in the new BKNY MADE II section. I'll also be posting a few more images next week but on the blog only.
Two hearts beat as one...
Hey guys! Did you sort out your health insurance? Confused about the process? Open Show NY (I'm a co-producer) has partnered with PhotoShelter, ASMP NY, Bronx Documentary Center, Asian American Writers' Workshop and South Asian Journalists Association for a FREE seminar on the NY health insurance exchange on Feb 25.
Seating is limited, so definitely RSVP --> http://bit.ly/1jmhvWI
We've got second one in the Bronx next month. Please help spread the word! Thanks!
It's not just succulents, airplants and moss. Michelle and Katy also create mini worlds within the terrariums.
